Nuno Inácio is one of Portugal’s most distinguished flutists. After graduating from ESM Lisboa, he went to the UK to receive private tuition from the great flute pedagogue Trevor Wye (1999-2001). He won 1st. Prize plus ‘Young Musician of the Year’ award from Portugal’s Prémio Jovens Músicos competition. Nuno has been principal flutist of Lisbon’s Metropolitan Orchestra since 2005 and before that he played at Cascais & Oeiras Chamber Orchestra and at Gulbenkian Orchestra. He often appears as a soloist with orchestras or chamber ensembles, or in duo with piano or harpsichord. He gave the premieres or pieces by Portuguese composers Sérgio Azevedo, Eduardo Patriarca and Fernando Lobo. Nuno Inácio has been a guest musician with Moscow Piano Quartet, Darcos Ensemble and Ensemble Mediterrain. He Holds a masters from Nova University Lisbon and is now doing his Doctorate within the same institution. He is Professor at the National Orchestral Institute (Flute) and at ESM Lisboa (Chamber Music).
