Orquestra de Câmara São Petersburgo

The Russian Chamber Philharmonic Saint Petersburg is one of the emblems of Russian musical culture abroad. Founded in 1990 by graduates of Saint Petersburg’s Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, the orchestra often performs frequent guest performances at some of Europe’s most prestigious concert series and summer festivals. Their repertory ranges from the Baroque era to new music. Since 1998, Yuri Gilbo has been their musical director. Their recording of the three big Weber works featuring the clarinet for Sony Music (2009) with clarinettist Fabio Di Casolà and Yuri Gilbo was ‘Editor’s Choice’ of Gramophone magazine. The Russian Chamber Philharmonic Saint Petersburg played with some of the world’s best soloists, like Mstislav Rostropovich, Nigel Kennedy, Igor Oistrach, Sir James Galway, Mischa Maisky, Giora Feidman, Sharon Kam, Sergei Nakariakov, David Garrett, Andrei Gavrilov and Vadim Repin.
