In reference to the famous messenger from Greek mythology, the Herm\u00e8s Quartet draws its musical strength from its role as mediator between the composer's text and the audience's sensibility. The flourishing career of the Quatuor Herm\u00e8s takes its members on tours worldwide. The Carnegie Hall in New York, the Forbidden City in Beijing or the Wigmore Hall in London are some of the halls that marked them the most. They have been playing in international music festivals in Europe and in Asia. The quartet is also a regular guest in the United States.\nFormed in 2008 in the Conservatoire de Lyon, the group received guidance by Ravel Quartet\u2019s musicians. Its trajectory has been punctuated by a number of decisive encounters, notably with the Ravel, Ysa\u00ffe and Artemis quartets, with whom the four musicians trained and developed a shared musical philosophy, and with such outstanding personalities as Eberhard Feltz in Berlin, and later Alfred Brendel, an immense inspiration with whom they now work regularly.\nThe Quatuor Herm\u00e8s has received numerous prestigious awards, among them \u2018R\u00e9v\u00e9lation Musicale de l\u2018Ann\u00e9e\u2019 at the Prix de la Critique 2014-15 and the Nordmetall Ensemble Preis 2013 at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival. It also won the First Prizes of the Geneva International Competition 2011, the FNAPEC Competition 2010, the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition 2009, and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York.\nThe four musicians were Artists in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel from 2012 to 2016. Since 2015 they have received support from the Fondation d\u2019Entreprise Banque Populaire and the Fondation Singer-Polignac in Paris. \nTheir close and privileged collaboration with the French record label La Dolce Volta resulted in the complete recording of Schumann's quartets, as well as an album dedicated to Ravel, Debussy and Dutilleux, both receiving praise from the specialized press. Their recording of the Brahms quintet, in collaboration with pianist Geoffroy Couteau, earned them the Choc de l\u2019Ann\u00e9e 2019 distinction from Classica magazine. Their most recent album is dedicated to the quartets Rosamunde and Der Tod und das M\u00e4dchen, by Franz Schubert and has received great praise from specialized critics.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
