João Moreira has been a trumpeter with the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra since 2019. From 2012 to 2017, he was Principal Trumpet with MusicAeterna in Perm (Russia), under the direction of conductor Teodor Currentzis, performing in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world.
In 2017, he returned to Portugal and won the position of Principal Trumpet with the Southern Classical Orchestra (Orquestra Clássica do Sul). He has received several awards in both Portugal and the United States — notably from the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) — and has performed as a soloist with various orchestras, including the MusicAeterna Orchestra (Perm, Russia), the Symphony Academic Orchestra of Rostov (Rostov-on-Don, Russia), the Southern Classical Orchestra, the Beiras Philharmonic Orchestra, the Lisbon Metropolitan Academic Orchestra, the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra (Russia), and the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra.
He holds a Master’s degree in Performance from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg (Germany), where he studied under the renowned professor Matthias Höfs.
