Born in China in 2003, the violinist Xunyue Zhang was awarded First Prize at the prestigious Mozart International Violin Competition in Salzburg in February 2026.
Iniciou os estudos musicais aos seis anos de idade. Após frequentar a Escola Secundária Afiliada ao Conservatório de Música de Xangai, prossegue actualmente a sua formação na Escola Superior de Música Hanns Eisler, em Berlim, na classe do Professor Stephan Picard.
As a soloist, she has performed in Germany, Italy, and China with orchestras such as the Hofer Symphoniker, the Kammerakademie Potsdam, and the Shanghai Conservatory Symphony Orchestra. She has also given recitals in Berlin, Shanghai, and other cities.
She also won the 2nd Prize and the Special Prize for the best interpretation of Mozart at the 8th International Violin Competition “Henri Marteau” in 2023, in Germany, in addition to having been awarded the 3rd Prize and three special prizes at the International Violin Competition Lipizer in 2022, in Italy, and the 2nd Prize at the Ibolyka Gyarfas Foundation Violin Competition in 2021.
Since 2022, she has been selected to participate in masterclasses at the Summer Classical Festival and Academy, the Kronberg Festival, the Villecroze Music Academy, and the Ettal International Summer Academy. She has had the privilege of attending masterclasses led by world-renowned musicians such as Ana Chumachenco, Mihaela Martin, Kolja Blacher, Boris Kuschnir, and Oleh Krysa.
She plays on an Andrea Guarneri violin, made in Cremona in 1663, generously loaned by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben Foundation.
