Daria Spiridonova

Violinist Daria Spiridonova was born and began her musical training in Kazan, Russia. She pursued her higher education at the prestigious Moscow Conservatory, and later deepened her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt in Germany and the Bruno Maderna Conservatory in Cesena, Italy, where she had the opportunity to study under the renowned violinist and pedagogue Luca Giardini.

In 2019, Daria gained international recognition after winning one of the top prizes at the “Internationaler H.I.F. Biber Competition” in Austria, a leading competition dedicated to historically informed performance of Baroque repertoire. This achievement marked the beginning of her rising international career. In 2020, she embarked on a solo tour across the Netherlands, performing eight concerts organised by the Organisatie Oude Muziek Utrecht. Two years later, she was again invited by the institution to perform a solo recital as part of the main programme of the esteemed Utrecht Early Music Festival.

Her interpretative excellence was further recognised when she won first prize at the José Herrando Baroque Violin Competition in Spain (2020), followed by the Rotary Prize in Italy (2021).

Today, Daria is regularly invited to perform as concertmaster with some of Europe’s most distinguished early music ensembles.

She performs on a historic violin crafted by Willem van der Sijde in 1690, generously loaned to her by the Jumpstart Foundation.
