The violinist Tomás Soares had his first violin lessons at the age of 7. He studied at the Music School of Colégio Moderno in Lisbon, and currently he is pursuing a Master's in Performance at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in Belgium, and a Master's in Solo Performance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Germany.
He has participated in several masterclasses led by professors such as Gerardo Ribeiro, Gwendolyn Masin, Aníbal Lima, Alissa Margulis, Albert Markov, Ilya Grubert, and Sergey Ostrovsky, among others.
He is a member of the Quarteto Tejo, with which he won the 1st prize in the 2019 Young Musicians Prize competition of the Portuguese Broadcasting Corporation, and has performed at various festivals and concert seasons.
He collaborated with the Juventus Ensemble in concerts at the Musical-Mente Cycle at the Monastery of São Bento da Vitória in Porto, and at the 3rd International Music Festival Bragança ClassicFest.
He regularly performs as a violinist with the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra and the Portuguese Chamber Orchestra.
