Semaan Wehbe

Semaan Wehbe is a Lebanese violinist currently based in Berlin. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin, where he studied with Professor Mihaela Martin. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Music at the same institution, under the guidance of Professor Rainer Honeck, concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.

Since 2022, Semaan has been a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, performing under the baton of Maestro Daniel Barenboim at prestigious venues such as the Philharmonie de Paris, the Salzburg Festival, and the Teatro Liceu in Barcelona. 

His orchestral experience is complemented by solo performances in various venues across Europe and the Middle East. His solo repertoire includes concertos by Sibelius, Mendelssohn, and Mozart, as well as essential solo violin works by J.S. Bach and Eugène Ysaÿe. He has also performed as a soloist with the Amman Chamber Orchestra, the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra, and the NDU Strings Ensemble.

In the realm of chamber music, Semaan has participated in numerous festivals and masterclasses, working with internationally renowned artists such as Miriam Fried, Gábor Takács-Nagy, Latica Honda-Rosenberg, and members of the Artemis and Michelangelo String Quartets.

Semaan Wehbe has been awarded several prizes, including the First Prize in the Lion's Foundation Junior Competition, and continues to build a dynamic career that bridges his Middle Eastern roots with a deep commitment to European classical tradition.
