Peruvian pianist Rosa Maria Barrantes studied in her native city Lima, before moving to Santiago do Chile where she graduated in Piano from the Catholic University under the orientation of Professor Maria Iris Radrigán. Later, she studied at the famous Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, with Natalia Troull, earning her Doctorate of Musical Arts with high marks. Her piano duo with Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro goes back to their time together in Moscow and in addition to their many concerts in Portugal and across Europe and the USA since, they also released a piano duo CD of French music. As a chamber musician, Rosa Maria was a member of the Trio Americano and she often performs with the DSCH - Schostakovich Ensemble. She has played with great musicians of the international scene, such as Anna Samuil, Corey Cerovsek, Adrian Brendel, Adrian Brendel, Pascal Moraguès, Marcelo Nisinman, Héctor del Curto, Chen Halevi, Jack Liebeck and Gary Hoffman, among others. Rosa Maria Barrantes was Professor of Piano and Chamber Music at the Piaget Superior Institute, in Almada, and currently she teaches at Lisbon’s Metropolitan Conservatory and is the coordinator of Lisbon’s Festival and Academy Verão Clássico.
