João Moreira joined Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa in 2019. Between 2012 and 2017 he held the position of Solo Trumpet with MusicAeterna in Perm (Russia), under the direction of Maestro Teodor Currentzis, playing in most major venues all over the World, and in 2017 he won the same position at the Orquestra Clássica do Sul. João won several solo competitions in Portugal and in the United States of America (ITG – International Trumpet Guild) and has been playing solo with several different orchestras such as MusicAeterna Orchestra (Perm, Russia), Symphony Academic Orchestra of Rostov (Rostov-on-Don, Russia), Orquestra Clássica do Sul, Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, Orquestra Académica Metropolitana, Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra (Russia) and Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa. João holds a Master’s Degree in Performance from the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater in Hamburg (Germany), where he studied with the renowned Professor Matthias Hoefs
