The Juventus Ensemble (JuvE) - which in its name is inspired by the goddess of youth, from Roman mythology, Juventus - is a new musical project aimed at young musicians, in the field of chamber music, which intends to become a reference for quality and a catalyst of opportunities for musicians at the beginning of their careers. JuvE’s debut took place at the 2022 Bragança ClassicFest International Music Festival, with works from Eurico Carrapatoso and Antonín Dvořák. In February 2023, in Porto, the JuvE presented the world premiere of the “Dreaming and Thinking” Sextet, from the north-american composer Bruce Adolphe. This concert included in the Music4l-mente cycle in Mosteiro de São Bento da Vitória. JuvE consists of a platform for young musicians of recognized talent who will integrate groups of variable geometry and participate in artistic residencies, with the accompaniment of musicians of international excellence. These residencies will result in public concerts, in which JuvE will share the stage with these renowned musicians. The Ensemble intends to welcome and help, as a priority the best emerging values of Portugal’s music scene, and to work in a vast repertoire including works by composers from different periods and musical styles. The Juventus Ensemble has the artistic direction of Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro and emanates from the activity of the DSCH - Shostakovich Ensemble and Lisbon’s Festival and Academy Verão Clássico.
