Born in Vila Nova de Gaia, Luísa Bandeira began her musical studies with Sandra Monteiro at the Perosinho Music School. Later, she entered the Professional School of Music in Espinho, in the class of Professor Aldo Salvetti, where she completed the Wind and Percussion Instrumentalist Secondary Course. She then began her higher studies at the Musik-Akademie Basel, in the classes of Emanuel Abbuhl and Omar Zoboli. After completing her degree with excellence in 2020, she continues her training at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne, this time under the guidance of Jean-Louis Capezzali. Regarding her orchestral experience, she was a member of the Gulbenkian Stage, the Neue Philharmonie München and the Schweizer Jugendsinfonieorchester. She also participated in several Music Festivals such as Aurora Festival (Sweden), Vienna Summer Music Festival (Austria), Music Festival in Trancoso (Brazil) and Festival and Academy Verão Clássico (Portugal). She has also collaborated with the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra, Cascais and Oeiras Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra XXI, ORSO Philharmonic, Sinfonieorchester St. Gallen and Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn. In 2021, she won the place of academist at the Sinfonieorchester St. Gallen and in 2022 she performs for the first time in a duo with Pedro Mendes, in an oboe and piano recital included in the Festival “Les Concerts de Camille” (Neuchatel). Throughout her academic career she received scholarships from the Fritz-Gerber-Stiftung and the Stiftung Melinda-Esterházy de Galantha. She is currently finishing her Master’s Degree in Orchestral Musician at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne.
